The Maung Hsaing; Amazing Myanmar 🧡 The Maung Hsaing is a traditional Burmese musical instrument, consisting of a square frame that holds a set of bossed, suspended bronze gongs. Typically featuring around 18 gongs, the Maung Hsaing is tuned to a lower register than the Kyi Waing. The gongs are hung by strings, and musicians play them with mallets similar to those used for the Kyi Waing, striking the gongs to produce a rich, mellow tone.
