Yes, you do need to prewash your nappies! 👀 Here’s the method: Soak in water for 24-48 hours followed by a machine wash with detergent (never use fabric softener, this will do the opposite and make your nappies less absorbent). Alternatively, you can wash 3-5 times at 60°c, but this is obviously less energy efficient. 🫧 The reality is that cloth nappies need time and washing to build absorption, just like a new tea towel that’s not that great when you first bring it home from the shops.
