New Zealand Red Cross and Deaf Aotearoa recently teamed up to deliver sign language classes to families from refugee backgrounds with deaf family members. The classes have helped families with communication and connected them with the services they need. 👋 Meet Sheree, our community banker on a mission to provide financial education to deaf or hard of hearing students in West Auckland. Sheree, who is on her own journey of learning sign language, has been working with Ko Taku Reo youth, teaching them how to create a budget, and other ways to take ownership of their finances. Sheree felt there was an accessibility gap when it comes to financial education, and wanted to start by helping her local community. She plans to help many more students in
