SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO) — Spring does not officially start until Friday morning, so winter has decided to take a last-second chance to let us know what it’s capable of between Sunday’s snow and Monday’s cold.
Winter has ended — according to meteorologists. While we may yet have some cold days ahead of us, we’ve survived until March. That means we’ve seen the end of meteorological winter, which begins Dec. 1 and continues through the end of February. (The calendar’s first day of spring is March 20.)
