Ecosystems change when keystone species restore balance. Philanthropy can learn from nature by funding the actors, infrastructure and relationships that allow complex systems to regenerate.
Gopher Tortoise Day is April 10. NPCA is working to save this keystone species, because entire ecosystems in Florida and other states would unravel without it.
Hopefully this court order will help the desert tortoise population rebuild, to regain the delicate natural balance of the Mojave.
